I finally got into the Northern Print studio to print some of the space linocuts on the electric press.
The first print was worryingly light but, after some help and advice from Helen, adjusting the pressure on the press and adding a little more ink, the black became blacker. The lighter print is useful in helping me to think about an alternative version, and some other astronaut and cosmonaut prints that I’m considering. I also rather like the offset effect in the overprinted proof.
These are just snaps taken in the studio – I’ll add better photos when the prints are dry.
